Alan Foley

Fabricator

A Durham native, Alan started welding in High School and quickly discovered that he loved to create—especially using metal. After graduating, he found himself working in remodels and construction in Nevada, where he met his artistic mentor. After soaking up knowledge and technique, he moved back to the North State and settled in Chico where he lives with his fiancee Nikki and their Boston Terrier, Izzy.

When he needed a job, a friend who knew about his proclivity for working with metal suggested Tink. He was a gifted artist, but had to learn the ropes to get where we needed him. When he started off as a cleaner—grinding metal and cleaning buckets all day—he would stick around after his shift to continue learning in the shop and get guidance from our old-timers. He moved onto metal-bending and it wasn’t long before he was one of our top welders. At Tink, he found a home where he had the freedom to try things differently, and where his creativity could be channeled.

Alan is currently working in our Translift assembly department and makes metal art in his free time. He continually looks to expand his shop knowledge, skills, and experience, and is an asset to our team with his quality work and finesse with mechanics.

The metal never lies. What you put in is what you get out.

Justin Moore

Welder

Justin was born into almond farming but learned welding from his father early on. He’s been welding most of his life, but never did so professionally until coming to Tink. Turns out he prefers it to ranch work—but he prefers anything to grinding.

With some additional on-the-job training at Tink, Justin became a truly great welder. His day-to-day usually consists of engine compartments, but he’s one of our go-to’s for odd jobs that require a little extra creativity and skill. He loves a good challenge, and especially one that involves MIG work—mostly because he can make it look so damn nice.

Raised in Durham, Justin now lives in Forest Ranch with his wife and their two children. Outside of family time, you’ll probably find him target shooting, buggy riding, or otherwise making the most of the trails and woods around him.

I learned to weld from my dad on the ranch, but since starting at Tink, he calls me to stitch things together... ‘can’t see the welds,’ he says.

Daniel Fowler, C&C Operator

Daniel Fowler

CNC Machinist + Robotics Programmer

Originally from Biggs, Daniel was just 21 when he first walked into Tink. He didn’t know much about welding—definitely not robot welders. But he was great with numbers and had a buddy in the machine shop talking us up. Now, he’s one of our most accomplished employees and a proud father of two.

We trained Daniel on the job, and along with some Butte College welding classes, it wasn’t long before he was more than capable on manual machines. He moved on to operating and programming our CNC machine before becoming our resident FANUC expert when we got our first robot in 2018. If anything needs programming, he’s the first one called in.

Daniel wears a lot of hats around our shop, including training new employees across the floor. But it’s the technical challenge of programming—“the puzzle of it”—that really gets him. It’s fun, and he loves doing it. He appreciates that we give him the space he needs to find his groove, and we’re happy to do it—the results speak for themselves.

The best part of the job is programming... it’s also air conditioned.
